Get to know Loving Acres Farm
Our story began in the early 1900’s with Manning Williams and his brothers tending to fields of tobacco and vegetables. After canning and storing enough harvested produce to feed their families for the year, they loaded trailers full of vegetables to sell in Atlanta or Jacksonville markets. Manning and his brothers also manned their own turpentine business and had a thriving pulp wood operation. Through hard work and God’s grace, they amassed over 400 acres of land. Today, Loving Acres Farm looks a little different as we evolve to meet new demands; however, the principles stay the same as we continue to put God first, serve with love, and maintain good stewardship of the opportunities placed before us.
Today, we are known for growing quality produce including southern favorites like okra, purple hull peas, yellow squash, sweet corn, and so much more. Our standards for producing fresh vegetables and fruits are grown with customers in mind; utilizing organic practices as often as possible, enabling safe handling measures during harvest and storage, and sourcing the best sales outlets to ensure that everyone can access healthy fruits and vegetables.
Loving Acres Value Pillars
Just as pillars have a crucial role in the structural integrity of homes, our value pillars are key to the success of our operation.
Advocate – Jesus was an advocate for us; likewise, our goal is to share the good news throughout our daily job functions and to lead by serving.
Build – Honor those individuals that labored and paved a way for the farm today. We want to build upon their efforts to leave a legacy for the next generation.
Connect – Partnership focused within the local community by providing jobs, philanthropic programs, and avenues for economic prosperity especially for those in underserved areas.
Demonstrate – Care for the environment by using sustainable practices, ensuring the long-term viability of the land and resources available.
Educate – Host Ag Classes and Gardening Workshops to encourage other farmers and stakeholders to start growing, to further increase agricultural experiences, and to provide educational opportunities and networking capacities.
Community Engagement
We understand the importance of family and community. One of our goals is to give back and empower the people that are closest to home. We do this by providing jobs, educating via Gardening Workshops, and offering Field Days so residents can experience firsthand what it takes to grow their own food and how it gets from Farm to Table. Be sure to stop by the Farm Store and see all our programs and philanthropic partners. Follow us on our social media pages for the latest updates.
